BMW E30 Suspension and Steering Technical Articles

Bmw e30 has independent front and rear suspension. Front is McPherson type and rear suspension has semi-trailing arms. Front suspension struts consists of coil springs and shocks as a unit, while at rear shocks and coil springs are separate. Suspension repair requires special tools in some cases.
On bmw e30 only front suspension toe can be adjusted - everything else is not adjustable if original parts are used. With aftermarket parts it is possible to adjust other suspension parameters.
Steering is power assisted rack and pinion type.
