Replacing Fuel Pressure Regulator ( FPR ) on BMW E30

BMW E30 Fuel Pressure Regulator location The OEM Fuel Pressure Regulator ( FPR ) is non-adjustable and should be replaced if results of fuel pressure test are not within specifications. FPR is mounted at the end of the fuel rail and towards the front of the engine. Be mindful that fuel will leak once you disconnect it.

To remove FPR start by disconnecting the vacuum hose and the return fuel line. Remove two 10 mm bolts, and pull the regulator from the fuel rail. You can use screwdriver between FPR and mounting bracket to gently pry it off.

Install new FPR on the fuel rail and make sure that it is firmly seated. Mostly due to space constraints installation might be a bit difficult, so it helps to hand start both bolts and then alternate fastening them. Reconnect vacuum hose and return fuel hose.
